Instagram Update By Beth Cass

Our Instagram has been updated with pictures from our days filming today (19th March), these are visible to everyone who has Instagram and is a type of marketing for our thriller film. They show what scene we started to film and make-up of the main character Martha, these contribute to showing the progress of our filming and the making of our thriller.

Today our media group started filming our last scene in the school corridor at the back of the hall. We found it difficult to find a time in the hall where there wasn’t a drama class in the performing but luckily we got a slot in there today. We applied our entire make and put our costumes on to get into role. We filmed a few different scenes with different angles so we had a lot of editing material so we can make our thriller to best it can be with all the different shots. We decided to do a lot of different shots such as high angle, low angle, pan and dolly so we had different angles to pick out the best. I was difficult to use the camera as it was a professional camera and none of us had been taught how to use it properly however Beth got the hang of it and filmed a lot of different scenes. We got a majority of scene three covered today but need further filming to get the best shots possible.

Shooting Schedule By Beth Cass

This is a temporary shooting schedule for this current week and next week. We are planning on shooting our last scene this week and getting all shots and angles complete and then moving onto the second scene next week- this is because these locations are in the school and easiest to access during school hours.

6th March- Thriller film progress By Beth Cass

Today, as a group we went to the location of scene 3 of our thriller. We filmed some practice footage of our last scene and discussed the changes we would need to make when editing for our real film. The location fits our storyline and gives the feel of a eery and scary place, the things we would need to change is the lighting in some areas and to possibly take different shots and angles of the same action. These are all things we would improve on when next going to film.
For our thriller we want to take as many possible shots and angles to give us more options to make our film flow better together and for the audience to gain a better understanding of the location and story.
